NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Family Coalition in Northbridge offers four workshops on Thursday designed to help families deal with life stresses.
The workshops, which will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Northbridge High School, 427 Linwood Ave., are:
- You are not alone, survivors of suicide workshop, led by Steve Boczenowski.
Hear a parent’s own story and how they started a survivor’s group in their community. Participants will learn how others have coped with the loss of a loved one by suicide.
- Working with your kids and their school 101, lead by licensed social worker Maura Mahoney.
Participants will learn how to developer strategies for working with their child to maximize progress in school and overcome struggles and barriers in communication.
- Wellness Workshop, under the direction of Kelly McGowan-Viera, a masters degree candidate at Family Continuity.
Participants will get tips on how to develop a healthy lifestyle.
- Internet Safety for Parents, under the direction of Kadion Phillips, director of educational technology for the Northbridge School District.
Parents will explore what they can can do to teach children how to use the Internet and social media in a safe and responsible way.
