Corporate Players Score for Greenwich Boys & Girls

GREENWICH, Conn. – Thirty teams of basketball players from area corporations joined in a spirited competition Thursday to support the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and vie for a championship title.

“This tournament has become a tradition for some of these guys to show support and have fun at the same time,” George Fox, vice president of the club's board and event organizer, said in a release.

Two women and 130 men battled it out for the 3-on-3 Championship trophy at the annual tournament and fundraiser held at Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich headquarters. Over $125,000 was raised to help the club help young people, especially those who need help most, reach their potential.

Phaethon Bolton, a club member and former Wake Forest University basketball player, kicked off the competition with a clinic for 20 club members. Team Titan won the title in a close game against Cobb Capital. Game play was double elimination, with a special 3-point shooting contest. The contest prize was a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey autographed by Kevin Love. The winner for the second time was Patrick Powers.
