NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Mr. Kim Webster of Grafton and his entourage of puppets entertained Thursday afternoon at the Whitinsville Social Library to a full house of youngsters and their caregivers.
He had children and adults standing and sitting, standing and sitting when he sang the “Sit Down, Stand Up’’ song, and he had them turning a slow stand-up into a jump with the “Popcorn’’ song.
“When I was young we didn’t have microwaves. We’d get off our dinosaurs and put oil in the pot,’’ he said to explain the “sizzle, sizzle, pop, pop’’ lyrics in the song.
In addition to music, conversations and jokes with his puppets, some of which Webster rescued at yard sales, the children were amused by magic tricks and sing-alongs.
Mr. Kim’s performance was part of the library’s Summer Reading program and funded by UniBank.
At 2 p.m. next Thursday, Southwick Animal Zoo will appear. Registration is not required.
