Join us on Saturday August 11th and Sunday August 12th for the opening ceremony of the Boston Buddhist Vihara, located in a quiet wooded hill of Grafton.
The Ceremony will begin on Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. with chanting from saffron robed monks flown in around the country. This is a rare occasion for people of all walks of life to experience the positive energy of chanting. This event is open-ended, so feel free to come and go as you wish.
On Sunday, the consecration ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., followed by a key note talk from Professor Christopher Queen, an expert on world religions and Buddhist studies. He is a former dean of students and alumni affairs at the Harvard University Extension School. Professor Queen has written many articles on Buddhism and has edited and contributed to four anthologies on the subject.
