NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – The week ahead in Northbridge begins with a special election on whether to exempt from Proposition 2 ½ the funding needed for a Department of Public Works headquarters. There are also many school athletic events and a chance for children to talk by phone to Santa Claus.

Monday, Dec. 17

Special election 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. One question on ballot asks voters whether to exempt a Department of Public Works project from Proposition 2 ½. Northbridge High School, 427 Linwood Ave.

Holiday Concert 7 p.m. Northbridge High School Music Department holiday concert. Cost is $5 for general admission. Kids 12 and under free but must get ticket.
