NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – The week ahead is a busy one in Northbridge, with several government meetings scheduled in addition to school and church events.

Monday, Jan. 28

Board of Selectmen meeting:
7 p.m., Memorial Town Hall, 7 Main St., Whitinsville.

Sen. Michael Moore office hours: Sen. Michael Moore will have office hours at the Senior Center, 20 Highland St., from noon to 1 p.m.

Varsity indoor track: 3 p.m., a Dual Valley Conference League Meet with multiple opponents hosted at Northbridge High School, 427 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville.

Tuesday, January 29

Coffee Break Bible Study
: 9:30 a.m. Participants do not have to know anything about the Bible to participate. Programs and child care provided for pre-school children. Call 508-234-4902 or visit www.pscrc.org. Pleasant Street Church, 25 Cross St., Whitinsville.

Divorce recovery support group: 6:30 p.m. For men and women who are separated or divorced and living single again. A complementary program for children ages 5-12, called DivorceCare for Kids, happens concurrently with the adult program. Free and open to all at Pleasant Street Church, 25 Cross St., Whitinsville.

Senior Citizens & Friends Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. at Northbridge High School. The menu is roast turkey, rice pilaf and apple crisp. The cost is $3.50

NHS girls’ varsity basketball: 7 p.m. Northbridge vs. Southbridge at Northbridge High School,  427 Linwood Ave, Whitinsvlle,

Wednesday, January 30

Knitting and Needlework
: 6 p.m. New and experienced knitters are invited to join the group at Whitinsville Social Library, 17 Church St.

Northbridge School Committee Budget Subcommittee: 8 a.m. Northbridge Public  School Administration building, Linwood Avenue.

Northbridge School Committee negotiations Subcommittee: 6 p.m., Northbridge Public  School Administration building, Linwood Avenue.

Thursday, January 31

Building, Planning and Construction meeting:
7 p.m., Memorial Town Hall, 7 Main St., Whitinsville.

Story and Craft Time: 10 a.m. Whitinsville Social Library, 17 Church St. Toddlers ages 2 and older. The event is free.

NHS boys’ varsity basketball: 7 p.m., Northbridge vs. Grafton at Northbridge High School, 427 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville.

Friday, Feb. 1

Artists’ reception for Deborah Barlow exhibit
: 5 p.m. The free exhibit will be from 5-8 p.m. at the Spaulding R. Aldrich Gallery at Alternatives, 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville. The exhibit continues through March 29.

Northbridge Elementary preschool lottery: Enrollment in the lottery will be Feb. 1-28. To be placed in the lottery, stop into the main office of the school on Cross Street between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The program serves 3- and 4-year-old children.

Saturday, Feb. 2

Baby Signs Story Time:
10 a.m., Northbridge Elementary School, Cross Street. Hear stories, learn baby signs, sing a song with signs and gain information on the benefits of baby signing thru the Baby Signs® program. The event is funded by Beginning Bridges.

Music and Movement with Deb Hudgins: 10:30 a.m. Music & Movement for young children is offered the first Saturday of every month at Whtinsville Social Library, Church Street. The program is paid for by Beginning Bridges, a local division of South Middlesex Opportunity Council.

Free math tutoring: 11 a.m. Free math tutoring for Middle School students at the Whitinsvlle Social Library.  The tutoring is provided as a community service by a retired math teacher with 40 years experience. Call the library at 508-234-2151 or ask at front desk to register.
