NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. ‒ Weekend events in Northbridge have something for book lovers and runners.
Friday, Oct. 5
Friday night football: 4:30 p.m. Northbridge High School's Rams play Grafton at Grafton High School.
Saturday, Oct. 6
Library book sale: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A book sale will be held in the basement of the Whitinsville Social Library, 17 Church St. New and used books for children and adults, as well as audio books and movies, will be available.
Blackstone Education Foundation 5K and 10K: 10 a.m. The Blackstone Valley Education Foundation will hold its first annual 5K and 10K races at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, 85 Beaumont Drive. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The race begins at 10 a.m. The cost is $15 per person, $40 for families of three to six, $10 for students, and free for children 10 and under.
The top male and female finishers in the 10K receive $500. T-shirts will be given to the first 150 who pre-register and will be available to those who register the day of the race while supplies last.
The day will feature family fun activities, including music, a barbecue, a bouncy house, and a clown.
Harvest for Humanity Fair: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church Harvest for Humanity Fair will be held Saturday at 61 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Peace of Bread Community Kitchen and UMCOR, an organization that provides aid during disasters anywhere in the world.
