What On, What's Canceled In Northbridge This Weekend

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Several events scheduled in Northbridge this weekend have been canceled due to the snowstorm that closed schools on Friday and canceled most Saturday events in the community.

Friday, Feb. 8
Northbridge Elementary pre-school lottery:
Enrollment in the lottery continues through Feb. 28. To be placed in the lottery, stop into the main office of the school on Cross Street between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The program serves 3- and 4-year-old children.

Play at Singh Performance Center:  "From Orchids to Octopi: An Evolutionary Love Story” canceled due to the storm.

Saturday, Feb. 9
Choco-L-Art show by the Blackstone Valley Art Association
: The Blackstone Valley Art Association opens its second Choco-L-Art show at the Whitinsville Social Library. The event continues through Feb. 16. The opening reception which was to be held Feb. 9 has been rescheduled to Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will include a free chocolate tasting..

Valentine crafts at Whitin Community Center: Canceled due to the storm.

Play at Singh Performance Center: 7:30 p.m.  "From Orchids to Octopi: An Evolutionary Love Story” will be performed at Singh Performance Center, 60 Douglas Road, Whitinsville. Advance tickets are $18, $16 for seniors 65 and over and students 22 and under. They are available online at www.4thwallstagecompany.org. At the door, tickets are $20, $18 for seniors 65 and over and students 22 and under.

The play may be canceled because of the storm; a decision on the Saturday show is expected to be made today.
