AUBURN, Mass. – Auburn and Central Massachusetts residents can help put smiles on children’s faces this holiday season by getting in the giving spirit Saturday.
As part of the state police department’s ongoing support of the United States Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, Massachusetts troopers will collect toys from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Auburn Toys ‘R’ Us at 416 Southbridge St. The Massachusetts State Police will be at eight locations across the state on Saturday for its third annual "Fill the Cruiser" day.
“To all who will donate Saturday, thank you for helping make a difference in the life of a child in need this holiday season,” according to a Massachusetts State Police press release. “We thank you in advance for your support of Toys for Tots, which provides toys to children from families in need across Massachusetts.”
Toys ‘R’ Us customers who wish to donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Toys for Tots program can purchase one inside the store and put it into the cruiser on their way out.
In addition to Auburn, the other “Fill the Cruiser” Toys ‘R’ Us locations are:
Woburn: 366 Cambridge St.
Springfield: 1686 Boston Road.
Kingston: 8 Gallen Road.
North Dartmouth: 492 State Road.
Framingham: 1 Worcester Road.
Dedham: 302 Providence Highway.

The mission of the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The Toys for Tots program delivers a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters to assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
