NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Mass Audubon’s Shaping the Future of Your Community Program will present a program on the Community Preservation Act from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 4 at Alternatives, 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville.

Participants will learn how CPA can help communities preserve open space and historic sites, create affordable housing and develop outdoor recreational facilities. The forum will discuss projects communities have completed under the CPA, and the costs and benefits of the program to communities in Worcester County.

Discussion will also include how communities that have adopted CPA can use their open space funds strategically, focusing land protection efforts on areas that are most critical.

Communities in attendance will be presented with community-specific maps of priority habitat areas.

A pizza dinner will be provided. The program is free but registration is required. To register contact or call 781-259-2146.

Lets consider reducing our Foreign Aid and use if for our Cities and Town's, we would not have to have CPA Bake Sales to help pay for much needed Community improvements.

If it could mean an increase in Property Taxes I doubt it will pass in this Town.
