NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - The Northbridge Public Schools will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 31.
An email received by the Daily Voice at 5:45 today said school was canceled. That email, however, had been sent Monday and was just received today. We regret the error.
School Superitnendent Nancy Spitulnik said parents should be aware, however, that some sections of Fletcher Street, Main Street, and Willow Street are impassable for buses at this time. Some bus stops will not be serviced until blocked sections of road are cleared. Buses affected include High School bus 8, Middle School bus 16, and elementary buses 11, 18, and 19. Parents should check the website at www.nps.org for specific information.
Also, after a town emergency management meeting on Tuesday, October 30, Ted Kozak, the town manager, has decided to hold trick or treating as scheduled on Wednesday, October 31. All parents and children are reminded to be extra careful when walking to avoid the numerous tree branches and other storm debris from Hurricane Sandy.
