NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Andrew J. Myers, of Tracey Drive, was indicted Wednesday in U.S. Federal Court, charged with using the Internet to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual conduct and possession of child pornography, according to United States Attorney Carmen Ortiz.
Myers, a Northbridge attorney, was a substitute teacher in Northbridge Middle School, a teacher's aide in the Millbury school district and a Northbridge Cub Scout leader. He was arrested Aug. 21 on child pornography charges based on an investigation that began in Colorado, officials said.
Myers, 34, was indicted on four counts of using the Internet to entice, persuade or induce a minor to engage in unlawful sexual conduct and one count of possessing child pornography, according to court records. He is being held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls, R.I.
The indictment alleges that between May 7-9 and on June 28, Myers sent graphic emails to three minors offering to perform sexual acts. The indictment says the minors were known to Myers through his work as a teacher or Boy Scout leader.
Since the charges were filed, Myers' affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America has been revoked.
According to the indictment, Myers’ alleged actions were discovered when the mother of a 12-year-old boy in Colorado presented the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office with copies of emails and chats between an unknown 33-year-old man and her 12-year-old son.
Through investigation, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office allegedly traced the origin of the emails and chats to Myers. Myers also is charged in the indictment with enticing the 12-year-old Colorado boy and with possessing child pornography on a laptop computer that was seized from his home Aug. 21.
If convicted, Myers faces not less than 10 years and up to life in prison on the enticement charges and up to 10 years in prison on the possession of child pornography charges. Both charges carry a supervised release term of five years to life.

These are the people our schools allow to teach. Northbridge is nothing but a tight community based off favoritism regarding sport athletes, honor students, or students who's parents are friends with faculty. Most of the faculty is corrupt and I know this based off of what I've seen having friends who are related to faculty. Although they are human and are acceptable to making mistakes, it's these people who impact out children and set standards in which our children prosper. I think our school committee should pay close attention to who they hire. Background checks, drug test, psychiatric analysis, etc. We need change in our schools. It's our children who will grow to become our future leaders and we should put more effort inorder to stop people like this infringing on the outlook of our schools
