NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – The annual census of Northbridge residents is under way by Town Clerk Doreen Cedrone.

The bright purple forms were mailed last week and should be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office within 10 days, Cedrone said.

It is an important legal document, Cedrone notes. Residents who do not respond could be removed from the voter registration rolls. The information is also the basis for the state-mandated list of residents that must be kept by each community.

Even if there are no changes to the information, the form must be returned, Cedrone said.

The form also keeps track of political affiliation, dog ownership, and whether the resident is a veteran.

Included in the packet is information on dog licenses.

All dogs 6 months of age or older must be licensed by May 31. The fee is $10 which is reduced to $6 for neutered and spayed dogs.

There is a $10 late fee on licenses obtained after May 31 unless it’s for a new dog.

Licenses may be obtained by filling out the form provided with the census or online at the Town Clerk's Office.
