NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. ‒ Boy Scout Troop 155 will hold a food drive for the Peace of Bread food pantry Saturday, Sept. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the WalMart on Valley Parkway in Northbridge.
WalMart shoppers will be asked to take a list of items needed at the pantry and buy an item or items for donation while they shop.
Peace of Bread community kitchen at the Presbyterian Church on Cottage Street serves free meals to those in need every Wednesday. Those who attend are also welcome to take food from the pantry.
At the drive last spring, the Northbridge troop collected $160 and about 1,800 food or household items.
The food collection will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with troop members working in shifts. At 3 p.m., the boys will bring the items to the church and stock the shelves.
