NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected from the town’s Wastewater Treatment Plant on Providence Road, Town Manager Theodore Kozak announced today.
The town participates in the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Program, Kozak said, and will be spraying tonight in several areas of town, including Arthur Drive, Cedar Street, Center Street, Church Street, Devon Drive, Driscoll Lane, Henry Street, Laura Lane, Louis Street, Louisa Drive, Nolet Street, Plummer Park, Providence Lane, Providence Road, Thomas Avenue, Thurston Avenue, Union Lane and Union Street.
Affected residents will receive emergency CodeRED calls alerting them of the finding and the spraying.
Residents can contact CMMCP at 508-393-3055 for spraying at their residence and may contact the Board of Health at 508-234-3272 or Kozak at 508-234-2095 for additional information.
