UXBRIDGE, Mass. – Patricia A. (Taft) Greenhalgh Hauge, 89, of Webster and formerly of Uxbridge, died peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 in the Oakwood Nursing Home, Webster. She was the wife of the late Merton R. Greenhalgh who died in 1958 and the late Cornelius J. Hauge who died in 1967.
Mrs. Hauge was an licensed practical nurse for the Uxbridge Board of Health as a visiting nurse which later became the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Milford-Northbridge Inc. for 28 years before retiring in 1988.
She is survived by two step-sons Cornelius J. “C.J.” Hauge of Ohio and Peter S. Hauge of Marlborough, three brothers Ernest Taft of Clarksburg, Kenneth Taft of Newport, RI and William Taft of Wells, ME; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two half-sisters, Pearl Rawson and Dora Hamer and one step-son Thomas C. Hauge of Uxbridge who died in 1992.
She was born April 15, 1923 in Uxbridge, the daughter of the late Robert and Silda (Cnossen) Taft and was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge prior to moving to Webster in 2009. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, class of 1940 and graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester in 1960.
Mrs. Hauge was a lifelong member of the North Uxbridge Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St. (Rte. 122), Uxbridge.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
