UniBank Offers Northbridge Children A Lesson In Banking

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - A summer partnership between the Whitinsville Social Library and the Northbridge School District continues Monday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Unibank, 49 Church St.  Learn what takes place in the bank and learn how to be a good saver. A banker will read a story to participants.

The program is free.

The Read Around the Town schedule includes:

July 30 – Foppema’s Farm, 1605 Hill St. – Learn how fresh fruits and vegetables are grown by the Foppema family, then listen to a story read by one of the farmers.

August 6 – Alternatives, 50 Douglas Road – Visit the historic Whitin Mill, learn the history behind it, and hear a great story.

Aug. 13 – Town Hall, 7 Main St. – Learn about how the town is run, who makes the decisions, and hear a story read by Town Manager Ted Kozak.

Aug. 20 – West End Creamery, 481 Purgatory Road – Learn how ice cream is made and listen to a story read by Mrs. VandenAkker.

All Read Around the Town events begin at 10 a.m.

The library will also host weekly story hour and crafts for children ages 2 and up on Thursdays at 11 a.m. in addition to many other weekly events
