What To Do In Northbridge This Week

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – The annual fall town meeting, a flu clinic and Halloween celebrations at the Senior Center and Northbridge High School are highlights of events in town this week.

Monday, Oct. 22

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Annual town meeting: 7 p.m. A 17-article town meeting warrant will be acted upon by voters at Northbridge Middle School, 171 Linwood Ave.

Board of Selectmen: 6:30 p.m. Northbridge Middle School, 171 Linwood Ave., prior to the start of the annual town meeting.

School Committee: 6 p.m. Northbridge Middle School library, 171 Linwood Ave., prior to the start of the annual town meeting.

Field hockey: 7 p.m. The Northbridge High School girls' varsity field hockey vs Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School at Lasell Field.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Flu clinic: 3-5 p.m. Northbridge High School, 427 Linwood Ave., Whitinsville. The clinic is free for all children under the age of 19. Flu mist is available for those 2 years of age and older; injectable vaccine available for those 3 years of age and older. Sponsored by Northbridge Public Schools and the Northbridge Board of Health.

Chamber membership meeting: 7:30 a.m. Massachusetts State Auditor Suzanne Bump will be featured speaker at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Membership Breakfast at Pleasant Valley Country club. The cost is $25 for members, and $35 for nonmembers. Call The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce at 508-234-9090 or email administrator@blackstonevalley.org to register. Registration also accepted at the door.

Mellowtones: 12:45 p.m. The Hopkinton singing group entertains at the Senior Center, 20 Highland St.

Field hockey: 3:30 p.m. Northbridge High School field hockey vs. Oxford at home.

Boys soccer: 5:15 p.m. Northbridge High School boys' soccer vs. Oxford at home.

Girls soccer: 7 p.m. Northbridge High School girls' soccer vs. Oxford at home.

Thursday, Oct. 25

Girls soccer: 5:15 p.m. Northbridge High School girls' soccer vs. Uxbridge at home.

Boys soccer: 7 p.m. Northbridge High School boys' soccer vs. Uxbridge at home.

Halloween with Deb Hudgins: 10 to 11 a.m. Story and crafts at the Whitinsville Social Library for children 2 and older.

Friday, Oct. 26

Chamber music series: 6 p.m. Chamber music series at Alternatives in conjunction with the Claflin Hill Symphony. A wine-and-cheese reception followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. $19. The concert is sponsored by Gaudette Insurance, ERA Key Realty and Milford Regional Medical Center.

Field hockey: 3:30 p.m. Northbridge High School field hockey vs. Grafton at home.

Football: 7 p.m. Northbridge High school Rams football vs. Oxford at Oxford.

Costume roller skating party: 5:45-7:30 p.m. Whitin Community Center - for children 5 and under from 5:45-6:30 p.m. and children ages 6-10 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. $4 per child. Parents are free. Proceeds will go to support the Center’s Youth Outreach Programs. Saturday, Oct. 27

Student Council Halloweenfest: 6-8 p.m. Northbridge High School and field house, 427 Linwood Avenue. Haunted House opens at 6:30 p.m. $4 admission for children and adults. The council also is collecting canned goods for the food pantry, two non-perishable canned goods equals $1 off admission, with a limit of $1 off per person.
