What To Do In Northbridge This Weekend

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Northbridge residents can celebrate the holiday season with shopping at church fairs on Saturday and join neighbors in Uxbridge at the First Holiday Night Santa Parade at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, a community concert will be held at 2 p.m. in Uxbridge and Northbridge High School students will treat shoppers to music and crafts at the mall in Millbury.

Saturday, Dec. 1

Christmas Fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Village Congregational Church, 5 Church St., Whitinsville. There will be Santa, a silent auction, kids crafts, balloon animals, handmade crafts and jewelry, baked goods, themed baskets, quilt raffle, student and local artists display.

Annual Bazaar 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Armenian Church bazaar at  Christian Reformed Hall, 25 Cross St. Includes dinner, food to buy to take home, crafts, and a silent auction.

Northbridge Food Pantry Fund Raiser 11 a.m. Whitinsville Wellness Center and Spa, 338 Church St., Whitinsville wll host its annual open house and fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Special presentations will be ongoing throughout the day. A $10 donation is suggested which will benefit the Northbridge Association of Churches food pantry. The spa is also collection donations for the Toys for Kids and Teens drive.

Sam Nation comedy night 7 p.m.  Progressive Club, 18 Whitin St., Uxbridge. Tickets are $20; open only to those 21 and older. The event benefits the Samantha Prescott Scholarship Fund. Prescott was a Northbridge High School junior and soccer player who died a year ago.

Music and Movement for Toddlers 10:15 p.m. with Deb Hudgins at the Whitinsville Social Library.

First Holiday Night Santa Parade in Uxbridge 4:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will kick off the holiday season in Uxbridge in a parade led by the Uxbridge High School Band from North Main Stret in North Uxbridge to the Town Common, where Santa will turn on the holiday lights. The celebration includes many musical highlights, Bobo the Clown and a petting zoo on the Town Common.

Sunday, Dec. 2
The Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band
, 2 p.m. 11th  annual Winter Holiday Concert, “Holiday Pops, Uxbridge High School Auditorium, 300 Quaker Highway, Uxbridge. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

NHS students bring music and crafts to the mall 10 a.m. Spend the day with Northbridge High School students at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury and enjoy some holiday shopping while showing your support for Northbridge High School. A portion of any purchase made at Barnes & Noble and Pizzeria Uno that day will go towards the high school. The day will include Christmas carols courtesy of the A Cappella choir from 2 to 2:30 p.m., a complimentary kids’ crafts and storytime provided by National Honor Society members and Mrs. Muscatell from Balmer School from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a handmade journal demonstration by National Honor Society members from noon to 4 p.m., and handmade cards by Friends of Rachel from 10 a.m. to noon.
