UXBRIDGE, Mass. - Peter J. Goyette Jr., 67, of 677 Quaker Highway, died suddenly at home Friday, June 29, 2012 after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Rosemary (Lavallee) Goyette; six stepchildren Russell Galas of CT, Bonnie Christianson of Gardner, Stanley Galas of Uxbridge, Debora Galas of Northbridge, Donna Galas of Douglas, and Linda Galas of Uxbridge; a sister, Beverly A. Salvucci of Uxbridge; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary M. Salgado and Theresa J. Matte of Uxbridge.
Born in Whitinsville on May 30, 1945 he was son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Mary M. (Medeiros) Goyette and lived in Uxbridge most of his life. He had also lived in Blackstone several years.
Mr. Goyette worked as a truck driver for Netco Corp. in Woonsocket many years. He previously drove for the former Marane Oil in Worcester for 30 years. He also drove part time for Valley Transportation in Uxbridge. He was a graduate of Uxbridge High School and was involved with the Uxbridge Fire Dept. He served as and EMT and on the ambulance as well. Peter loved working with his hands. He was skilled in carpentry and enjoyed being in his workshop. He also enjoyed fishing.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5 at 7 p.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 5 at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m.
