DOUGLAS, Mass. - Frances J. “Hershey” (Hreusik) Hippert, 88, formerly of Orchard Place, died Thursday, Nov. 15 at UMass Memorial Healthcare Center in Worcester after an illness.
She is survived by a son Ronald J. Hippert and his wife Debbie of Douglas, a daughter Linda A. Ward and her husband Walter of Shrewsbury with whom she lived, six grandchildren, Brian and his wife Kerri, Kevin and his wife Dolores, Shannon and her husband Jon, Greg, Ryan, and Casey; four great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ernest J. “Bluebird” Hippert who died on March 30, 2003, a brother Stephen L. Hreusik and a sister Anna Chabot.
Born in Douglas on Oct. 3, 1924 she was the daughter of Louis A. and Anna (Michna) Hreusik and lived in Douglas all of her life. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Women’s Slovak Catholic Sokol, and the Catholic Women’s Council. She was a member of St. Denis Church and enjoyed shopping and eating out. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehab. Center for their loving and compassionate care.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas will be Monday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
