Obituary: Frederick E. “Freddy” Marchand, 77

UXBRIDGE, Mass. - Frederick  E. “Freddy” Marchand, 77, of E. Hartford Ave. died Wednesday, Sept. 12 at St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill.   His wife of 25 years, Jeanne T. (Boulanger) Marchand died on Jan. 17, 2005.

He is survived by his two sons Lawrence and his wife Beatrice Marchand of Whitinsville and Brian and his wife Marilyn Marchand of Douglas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister Olivette E. Galas of Uxbridge, many nephews, nieces, and friends.

 
Born in Uxbridge on May 10, 1935 he was one of nine born to Frederick I. and Louisa (Bouffard) Marchand and lived here all of his life.  

Mr. Marchand was a self employed contractor throughout the area for many years.   Previously he had worked 10 years at Sealtest Ice Cream in Framingham.  In his retirement he worked part time for Service Master Corp.  He was educated in the Good Shepherd School and enjoyed woodworking and making furniture.  He was a devoted husband and father, dedicated to family and will be deeply missed.

His funeral will take place Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, Sept. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 15 from 12 to 2 p.m.  Donations in Freddy’s memory may be made to the Uxbridge Ambulance Fund, 25 South Main St. Uxbridge, MA  01569 .
