NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Jackie L. (Gilliland) Alexander, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 30, in the Milford Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Alexander. In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Craig S. Alexander and his wife Beth, of Worcester; her two daughters, Linda Kent and her husband Alan of Dudley and Brenda Blais and her husband Bert of Douglas; eight grandchildren, Tracey Anderson, of Worcester; Brian Alexander, of Deltona, Florida; Dawn Lundquist and Jason Kent, both of Dudley; Jessica Klotz of Valdosta, Georgia, Dustin Alexander of Northbridge, Christina and Victoria Alexander of Worcester and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Alexander also leaves nine siblings: Billy Jo, Robert, Leonard, Henry, David, Geraldine, Nancy, Diane and Janet; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Robert, her brother Miller Ray and her sister Geneva.
Mrs. Alexander was born January 31, 1935, a daughter of Miller and Bessie (Rodgers) Gilliland. She was born and raised in Morely, Missouri. She and her husband moved to Milford with their family in 1963. After living there for seven years, her family lived in Georgia and New Hampshire before settling in Whitinsville about 20 years ago.
Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her husband. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Alexander will be Friday, Jan. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St.,Whitinsville. Calling hours will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.
