HOPEDALE, Mass. – John J. Cahalane, 62, of Hopedale and formerly of Brookline, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Jacqueline R. (Mitchell) Cahalane.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Jonathan V. and his wife Denise E. Cahalane of Worcester; a daughter Jill A. Cahalane of Hopedale; a brother Vincent P. Cahalane of Boston; five sisters, Helene Dunne of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jeanne Foster of Southborough, Janet Richardson of Pomfret, CT, Jane Blanchfield of Doylestown, PA and Patricia Whipple of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Nathan Bunnell, Sean Cahalane and Riley Cahalane and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cahalane was the Sales Supervisor for M.S. Walker Inc. in Somerville for 28 years, retiring in July.
He was born Sept. 8, 1950 in Boston, a son of the late Vincent P. and Helen (Murphy) Cahalane. He was a graduate of Brookline High School, Class of 1968 and Boston College, Class of 1971.
Mr. and Mrs. Cahalane observed their 41st wedding anniversary on Aug. 21, 2012.
John was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed all sports.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford.
