Obituary: Kenneth 'Ken' J. Morrissette, 71

UXBRIDGE, Mass. - Kenneth "Ken" J. Morrissette, 71, died Wednesday, Dec. 19 at home after an illness. 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (Mulcahy) Morrissette; two sons Michael D. Morrissette and his wife Anne and their children Amanda, Taylor, Kyle, and Elizabeth Mary; Jeffrey P. Morrissette and his wife Terrie; a daughter Carolyn M. Morrissette; a sister-in-law Lyn Morrissette of FL, his Aunt Jennie Morrissette, two brothers-in-law Paul Mulcahy and Daniel and his wife Donna Mulcahy, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Robert Morrissette of Florida on Oct. 20, 2012. 

Born in Webster on Sept. 5, 1941 he was the son of Oscar and Florence (Cramer) Morrissette and lived in Uxbridge for the past 45 years.  Ken is a graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster and Nichols College in Dudley.  He worked for the Foxboro Co. until his retirement in 2001.  An avid outdoorsman, Ken was a lifelong member of the Uxbridge Rod & Gun Club and the Whitinsville Fish & Game Club.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fairlawn Rehab Center in Worcester for their dedication and care throughout Ken’s treatment. 

His funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge will be Friday, Dec. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m.  There are no visiting hours on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Cancer Care at Milford Regional Medical Center, 14 Prospect St., Milford, MA  01757.
