Obituary: Patricia Dale Shea, 86

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Patricia Dale Shea, 86, died Wednesday, Oct. 31 in Beaumont Nursing Home of Northbridge surrounded by her family.

Born in Milford, Dec. 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Patrick P.J. and Blanche (Montville) Connors, Shea was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Milford class of 1943.

She worked at Massachusetts Electric Company and the Uxbridge Public Schools. She volunteered for many years for Catholic Charities as a "holder" and brought newborn babies to their adoptive parents. She was an avid reader, loved gardening, crossword puzzles and vacations with her family on Cape Cod. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge.

She is survived by her husband George V. Shea of Uxbridge; her daughters Mary Creighton of Centerville, Mass. and her husband Thomas Creighton; Patricia Shea of Uxbridge and her longtime companion John Foley; and her son Skip Shea and his wife Anna Chinappi of Uxbridge; her grandchildren Kelly Creighton and her husband Jason Yanussi of Cheverly, Md.; Erin Porter and her husband Jason Porter of Milford; Don Liberty and his wife Cheryl of Boylston, Mass.; Andrew Chinappi and his wife Erin of Uxbridge; and the late Shawna Shea and Michael Liberty.

She leaves two great grandchildren Bella Shawna Medeiros and Talia Christine Chinappi. She was the sister of the late Vincent Connors, Preston Connors, Elizabeth Bianchi and Paul Connors.

Her funeral mass from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge. 

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, Nov. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in her memory to the Shawna Shea and Michael Liberty Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Unibank, 25 North Main St., Uxbridge, Mass. 01569.
