NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Patricia A. (Girard) Couture, 67, died at home, Monday, Oct. 22, following a long battle with shingles and lymphoma.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth J. Couture; two sons, Steven, and Brenda, Couture, of Northbridge, and William A. Couture, of Miami, FL; a daughter, Kelly J. Gopoyan, and her husband, Stephen, of Worcester; two grandchildren, Benjamin S. and Emily Patricia Gopoyan; a brother, Michael Girard, of Richmond, VA; and a great aunt, Blanche Aldrich, of Manchester, NH. She was predeceased by a sister, Janet Caya.
Mrs. Couture was born in Northbridge, July 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Harry and Rita (Lamontagne) Girard, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Northbridge High School in 1963.
From 1997 - 2001, she owned and operated Postal Center USA, in Whitinsville, one of the first pack and ship stores in the Blackstone Valley. Previously, she was an office administrator at Worcester OB-GYN for 15 years.
Pat loved to cook, plant her vegetable and flower gardens, travel, fish, go polka dancing, win at the casino, and, especially, spend time with her grandchildren.
Pat's family would like to thank the VNA Care Network and Hospice, as well as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital for their care and support, and especially, Dr. Brendan McNulty, for his compassionate care.
Pat's Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in Saint James' Church, Main Street, South Grafton. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. Calling hours will be 8 to 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
