NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Victor L. Lessard, 67, of Mason Road, Whitinsville, died Thursday, Aug. 30 after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Frances M. (Reno) Lessard; a son Thomas P. Lessard of Whitinsville; a sister Yvette Cunningham and her husband Wayne of E. Freetown; a grandson Alex Bloom of Whitinsville; a niece and a nephew; his aunt Lillian Pietras of Northbridge; and many good friends including long time friend Harry who was good to Victor through his illness.
Born in Worcester on July 21, 1945 he was son of the late Victor and Lucienne (Mongeon) Lessard and lived in Northbridge all of his life.
Victor was a skilled machinist for Boston Digital Co. 20 years. He then worked for G&W Services in Uxbridge, retiring in 2008. He began his career at the former Whitin Machine Works. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1963 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserves for six years during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Oliver Ashton American Legion Post 343 and enjoyed spending summers at Cape Cod. He will be remembered as a great father, grandfather, and husband. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4 from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St. Cremation will follow. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, Sept. 3 from 5-8 p.m.
