Northbridge Police Charge Two With Breaking Into Car

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – A 17-year-old Douglas youth and a Sutton juvenile were arrested early Monday in connection with a vehicle break-in on Lake Terrace, police said.

Nicholas Deschene of 4 North St., Douglas, was arrested at 2 a.m. and charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle in the nighttime, a felony; and receiving stolen property over $250, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a burglary instrument, according to the police report.

The report says that Officer Richard Gorman, while on patrol, noticed a suspicious person he believed was breaking into a vehicle on Lake Terrace. He said the suspect ran off when confronted. Deschene was later arrested on Church Street.

He was taken to the Northbridge police station for booking and was arraigned in Uxbridge District Court.

Arrested  with Deschene was a 16-year-old boy from Sutton who was charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle in nighttime, a felony; and larceny over $250, police said. The juvenile was released to his parents and will be arraigned in Milford Juvenile Court.

Arresting officers were Gorman and Sgt. Stephen Zollin.

Additional arrests by Northbridge police include:

  • On Monday, Mark R. Lamoureux, 25, of 12 Hazel St., Apt. A, Uxbridge, was arrested on a straight warrant. Officer Richard Gorman made the arrest after noticing two suspicious males walking on Maple Street at 1:47 a.m., police said.
  • On Saturday, Brandon J. Bartkus, 35, of 36 Brook St., Whitinsville, was arrested on a default warrant after police received a call at 11:38 a.m. of a suspicious man hanging around in front of the Hess Gas Station at Plummer’s Corner. Police said Bartkus was located at Vera’s Market and arrested on the warrant. Officer Matthew Leonard and Detective Donald Roy made the arrest.
