NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - The Northbridge Special Education Parent Advisory Council is hosting an Assistive Technology in Special Education presentation on Thursday.
This workshop will provide families with an introduction to Assistive Technology, the Laws regarding the consideration for Assistive Technology in Special Education, and the process to determine if your child is eligible for Assistive Technology tools or service. The workshop will be presented by Patricia M. St. Marie, Assistive Technology Specialist.
St. Marie is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant who has worked for the French River Education Center, Inc., of North Oxford since 1996. In 2002, she completed a graduate certificate program in Assistive Technology from the Research Institute for Assistive and Training Technologies. She has attended local and national conferences in the ever-growing field of Assistive Technology and currently is a graduate student in the Assistive Special Education Technology program at Simmons College.
The meeting will be held Nov. 8 at Northbridge High School Media Center, 2nd floor, 427 Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, MA from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
