NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - The 24th annual Whitin Five Thanksgiving Road Race and 2-mile health walk will be held Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, beginning at 8:10 a.m. at the Whitin Community Center, 60 Main St., Northbridge.
A $50 prize will be awarded for new course records, and mugs are awarded to the first 50 finishers. The event is held rain, snow, or shine.
The event will include raffles and coffee as well as cash and merchandise awards (must be present), along with race T-shirts and refreshments. Lockers, hot showers and parking is provided by the Whitin Community Center, with new computer chip timing by Racewire.
The cost is $23 for advance entry, $25 on the day of the race, with a $3 discount for students under age 23.
Proceeds benefit the Whitin Community Center and the Massachusetts Audubon Society in Worcester.
The course is certified 5 miles, said Linda Usher of Upton, who is race director.
