NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Coach Ken Lachapelle may reach a milestone in his long career as varsity football coach at Northbridge High School on Friday night – his 300th win.
Unfortunately that win, if it happens, won’t be on Lasell Field. The game is against Southbridge High School in Southbridge, so Selectman James Athanas suggested at a meeting on Monday that as many Northbridge residents as possible travel to Southbridge to support Lachapelle and the team.
“I hope a lot of people head down there,’’ Athanas said. “To win 300 is fabulous.’’
Lachapelle, a 1966 graduate of Northbridge High School, has coached the Rams since 1976. His winning record is the third best in the state.
