But they still don't have the neighborhood roads open 2 lanes. We have only 1 1/2 lanes open and school busses will take that much. You don't want to meet large dump trucks and oil trucks on a curve on our windy roads with all this snow.. View Comment

I would like to krow the exact location of this property and what residential units lie within a one mile radius of the site. Do our roads meet standards for transportation of hazardous materials? What will be the road and intrastructure impact from the Town line to the site? What is the hazard impact for citizens driving or living near this site? How much traffic impact from the big tanks?

I believe the choice is an easy one.
My vote goes to Scott Brown because he stands up for what he believes and is probably one of the few senators who reads all the bills presented to him before he votes. Most have their staff review the bills and vote along party lines. Scott makes decisions that he thinks are best for MA and the country.
Warren may be intelligent but she was hand picked to run as a Democrat insider in Washington and she does not represent my views. View Comment
Seemed like the Board of Selectmen had lots of (our) money to spend last night but not a mere $60,000 to take care of a health crisis.
Where's the common sense?
The vote for Honeywell should have been a counted vote and I am disappointed the the Board of Selectmen did not listen to their own Finance Committee. The Town meeting style of government does not let all participate. It was a travesty to have the meeting drag on until close to midnight. Most residents were not going to stay that late so they were disenfranchised.
And many do not agree with the way money was "slushed" around last night without concrete figures. View Comment
My concerns are many and include our financial problems, increased spending with money we don't have, poor economic news, and lack of truth and honesty from our highest elected officials.
Our children will bear the brunt of Obama's poor decision-making and poor leadership. I don't believe he has the United States as his first priority.

The fee increase seem unnecessary as no rational was given except that other districts charge more. This does not include the high custodial fees so the intent seems to be to stifle use of the school facilities.
What happened to the idea of community schools? Now we are locking out the Grafton residents that paid for those buildings to be erected and maintained and will continue to pay for them with taxes..
I agree with Teri Turgeon's comments and I think this change is a slap at the community especially the non-profits who are working to make this town a better place.

Mitt Romney will try to ease the horrendous debt that Obama so easily put on our shoulders. He will not leave the governance of our country to 37 czars and bypass the Constitution in executive decrees.
Think about the decline in our prestige and positive influence around the world. This has come under Obama's term. He jokes and talks well using the teleprompter and many fell for that because they wanted to believe in his ability to make a positive difference. Obama didn't. Obama mishandled our trust and our money. He blames others for his own problems and our problems.

Scott Brown represents me and I think he has done a good job of reading the legislation and carefully considering what to vote for and what to vote down As the previous responder stated there is so much negotiation and "pork" put into bills that many people are unaware of and that's how Congress works. Scott has been working in Congress and is not one of the non-thinkers.
I am not pleased with many politicians but I believe Scott is trying to do what we elected him to do - REPRESENT the people of Massachussetts - and I thank him for his representation.. View Comment
This certainly sounds like "Honeywell Light." Why doesn't the Building Inspector inspect DPW - that's another story we have heard before and should be addressed.
The Municipal Center does have needs but do we really have the funds to do what is being proposed? Or is this another,"Sorry, there are more expenses involved and we need to raise your taxes."
Haven't heard anything about the Library needs recently. Maybe because we had the Head Librarian, Chilren's Librarian, and several Trustrees resign or retire this project will again be tabled, and the Municipal Center will become the Magic Building - as it suddenly can be remodeled without worrying about abestos removal, bringing the entire builing up to code, and won't cost any money!
And why do we have all that surplus around when we seemed to have no money last year? Are the schools being squeezed to give up what they might, in fact, need?

Yes, the seats are there and teachers are already under contract. Let's fill those seats, keep our reasonable pupil-teacher ratio, and maybe add some funds to our budget. The administration will need to carefully plan for those potential in-coming students to avoid overcrowded classrooms in the future.

When presented with a proposal that had limited public presentation and involvement, attendees showed their reluctance to vote in the affirmative on an idea that evolved from school maintenance needs to rebuilding the Municipal Center. Let the energy advocates explain more carefully their proposed project, involve more citizens in the discussion, and then re-present the Honeywell proposal with firm figures that guarantee savings and NO NEW TAXES.
Without clarity of information, citizens of Grafton will no longer rubber-stamp financial proposals from the Board of Selectmen. View Comment
