While many of us make safe & reasonable decisions, there are the select few who need severe "incentives" to be responsible........as much as I hate a Nanny State, it really is for the greater good. Police, firemen & DPW workers didn't need to spend a single second rescuing an idiot driver and that is a good thing. View Comment
If you want a good visual on the power of a gas explosion, Google Sissonville, West Virginia....they had a pretty substantial explosion on December 11, 2012. Plenty of pictures and first hand reports...........

The main question you have to ask is this, if there is an incident with the propane tanks, who holds the liability? If it's the railroad...then I would lean toward preemption.... if the liability would be with Spicer Gas or Holstein....then it is not a case of preemption....it really is as simple as that...by the time these things get before a judge, the judge will have a pretty good idea what the evidence, contracts & ownership is.....It's just a shame Delli hasn't learned from past business mistakes...shame for shame. Makes me wonder what he's been doing that hasn't been caught by officials...remember, he stood in front of our residents at the meeting and insisted the silt filled pond was a pre-existing issue. It's clear his little gas garden project is a risk to our North Grafton drinking water. View Comment
A full, comprehensive safety & security plan....I want to see one, I want to read one, I want to be provided with one....I want it to be reviewed by our Department of Homeland Security...It is only right that we have one to ensure and feel comfortable about OUR investments, whether it be our homes, our fellow neighbors, our town buildings and our children. I would also like it to include responsible parties if the SAFETY PLAN is not followed by the Railroad/Owners and recourse is necessary in light of a unexpected tragedy. This people, is the world we live in. View Comment
Hey Ad....Delli has plenty of experience.....he ran a marina, he was a classic car restorer....built over 55 housing all over Marlborough & Hudson...tried his hand at Edaville RR, tried to make a go of some industrial buildings on South Street in Marlborough with his Franchi friends....oh yes, and tried to buy the old Police station on Main Street in Marlborough....go to Bill Galvin's site....you can see all his shenanigans...Google is a wonder.....what more experience do you need to run a dangerous operation in a neighborhood with a school and bio-lab? I would like to know what security plans will be in place once these tanks are filled. Not to be morbid, but these tanks could be a potential draw for someone intent on harming others....will there be security cameras monitored 24/7 or will there be a human security detail? Does Delli even HAVE to have security for these for sitting bulls-eyes? I hope the Federal court has an outreach with Homeland security to consult on the proposed hazard Delli's little gas garden poses to the bio-lab, school & residents. View Comment
Propane tanks that have been sitting in the salt air for 50 years? Sounds incredibly safe......and if the railroad is such a fantastic way to transport goods, why aren't the tanks being delivered by train? As for the roads, he's only using State roads, with the exception of Westborough Road......I'm not quite understanding why he didn't take Route 20 to 140, then Westborough Road...or even Grafton Street to 140......he must have employed more brain trusts, just like the First Colony boys.....LOL

It actually wouldn't be a second vote....this would be the fourth vote. The people of Grafton have voted down this proposal not once, but four times at Town Meetings.... if the BOH & the mosquito experts want to help the public, do something about tick borne diseases....I know far more people who have been sickened by tick bites, not to mention pets who have died from ticks. Stop scaring people into thinking there's nothing they can individually do, to ensure the reduction of mosquito's on their property and for their own personal safety. View Comment
(("In Grafton, we only have one site where mosquitoes are tested," Grafton Health Agent Lois Luniewicz said))...Yes, and I bet the location is at the Dunkin Donuts where Lois gets her bed-wetter size coffee. It seems ludicrous that Lois would spend so much time on something as small as a mosquito, but yet cover up something as huge as the rat infestation at Grafton Pizza. View Comment
Hopefully, residents in the Hollywood Drive neighborhood will heed this notice and not put trash bags out overnight Wednesday. We are having problems with rats caused by the infestation at the pizza place and the Board of Health's apathy. View Comment
