At Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, and any other electronic store or on line web site these little black boxes called scanners are sold and if local people want to educate themselves they can purchase one or more of these items and they can listen in the home, on the road and they would be abel to hers statements like Lieut. Labrie tell his persuing officers to "Back off, and just keep the vehicle insight we don't want any one getting killed". Unlike the man speeding away from police in a stolen suv on our public roads it really seems as though the only person at fault is the dead thief! I believe the Northbridge and Uxbridge Police did everthing possible to keep the outcome from turning tragic great job!!! View Comment
You people are tapped in the head the D.P.W. project is a big win win! But as long as all you un educated know it alls keep thinking Mr. Marzecs I'm taking my ball and going home attitude, because i'm not getting my way is the best thing for the town then i guess the great-great grand children of our current Firefighters should prepare to make an attempt to build a new fire sta. and i guess the same great-great grand children should plan on building a new D.P.W.!!! If people would have listened to the HKT proposal @ the BOS meeting that night they would've heard that their proposal included most of the clean up cost, regrading, instulation of proper drainage, dismantiling of brick building (NOT HOUSING MOST OF OUR D.P.W. EQUIP!) reusing what could be reused and building a structure that would last another 50+ yrs. I know so much easier to stop listening @ 8 million! View Comment
Hey Bunky it seems as though nothing ever pleases you or is good enough or honest enough for you if i was a D.P.W. employee i would make sure my equipment broke down just in front of your adress, your really on the minority list if you think the 2 new guys incharge of D.P.W. operations aren't being honest!! NHJIM1: your right military surplus equip. can be a good idea, but even that can be costly at times View Comment
I too agree on letting the tax payers vote on the Fletcher St. ($8 million) project, without any negative feedback from our elected officials. But the hard cold truth is the elders and yuppies of this town just want to keep their money for themselves and forget about helping the hard working employyes who they expect to be there in a moments notice! Give me a ballot now i'll vote yes, and double yes on the $8 million Fletcher St. site View Comment
Other than our great band of Military Veterans there couldn't be another great bunch of honorable men like Fire & Iron that is willing to go out of their way to help out people or groups in need my salute to all, and Stephen and Jess your in good hands! View Comment
The question is asked, "What does Mr. Shuris and his Dept. think of this option"? Well it's obvious the people complaining the most on bottom line figures and sticking their noses in don't care what the Highway Dept. employees think as long as certain people get what they want!! View Comment
Mr. Hughes your blamining the Town Manager is completly outrageous any one who would like to have their back yard area treated can simply take charge of their property and use the on-line application from Central Mass. Mosquito request for spraying. Why do people feel the need to blame the Town or some one else for not treating certain areas. People this spraying is free to the Town residents and has been all season long all you have to do is request it from their Web site cmmcp.org . Take the time and look at the website instead of blaming or pointing the finger!! View Comment
The problem with any idea for the new D.P.W. is that the ELDERS and the YUPPIES would rather hoard their money away and continue to complain about roads and parks and sidewalks not being taken care of, but yet if the mere mention of tax money being spent is discussed then GOD FORBID any of us taxe payers have to go with out! Maybe US TAX PAYERS that want to see the D.P.W. and it's under appreciated, under paid, over loaded employees demand that certain roads and developments don't get accepted! I for one if needed support Mr. Shuris and his employees and would have no problem paying 5,10,15,or even twenty million! or even 10,20,30,40, or 50cents a day!! View Comment
Once the bridge is finished who is Laurienn's and the rest of Rockdale going to blame for lack of business? I suppose the Chef could take the blame for the under cooked chicken, wilted rotten salads and cold food and I guess the Rockdale residents who would rather cry poverty instead of spending mony on Town repairs could also take their share of the blame but then again why take responsibility it's so much easier to blame some one or some thing else. Where was the outrage when Northbridge FireFighter/Paramedic was arrested and charge with child pornography, ooohhhh that's right he RATTED out other members of his online group! View Comment
Nice to see trees being trimmed but who gave them the permission to leave the messes on the sides of the roads and in peoples yards, for example East St. Church St. Willow St. Leland Rd. etc. View Comment
After watching the most recent BOS mtng. i've come to realize if we continue to let the elders of town who don't want to spend the monies they have scroodged away, then we might as well keep making ADHOC committees and wastefully spend monies on more studies to tell us what we already know, lets bite the bullet listen to our DPW workers and give them what they need for christ sake i can't remember the last time they've asked for anything this important but i can remember all the roads we've excepted and all the fields and parks they've been asked to take care of. If we really care about our DPW workers and our million dollars worth of equipment then lets put our monies were our mothes are stop screwing around and get something DONE!! Mr. Shuris and his men have my support of an 8, 10, 15, or if need be 20 million dollars because it's time to stop dumping the towns debt on our children and grandchildren and it's time us as leaders and ELDERS fix our problems! Well it's nice to see that somethings aren't being left to ADHOC Committees or on line daily news paper chats I'm sure it's a little bit of a work load removed from the already over worked understaffed D.P.W. View Comment
After getting to know you through Bill A., Neal M., Carl B., Dan B., Tom and sevaral other Veterans I am proud to say we've met, I hope you enjoy retirement and my family and I hope to still see you around GREAT JOB!! and GOOD LUCK!! View Comment
If i remeber right i believe that last year some one with access to a whole lot of processed loam and irrigation equipment talked to the previous Superintendent and offered these services for free and he was flat out told no because the school department wouldn't accept that. But i believe that before anything is started people should look around and talk to different irrigation companies and landscape or gravel companies because some may be willing to donate time and materials for maybe an election size sign that can be put up or taken down in a heart beat, also maybe ask the Sherrif Depart. for assistance in manual labor after all it's summer break ther should be no worry about children interacting or maybe some of the future delinquents should interact they might learn something. But i would not just go on Paul Halacy's word and i would also like to see the parents living through their children to step up and stop putting them on the front line like a firing squad voters don't like seeing that, and certainly don't support it! Well as a tax payer in this town all I would like to say is Mr. D'Amato you know you took on the job to fill a large pair of shoes when Mary Fran passed and i would venture to say she is watching and is real proud at the way you followed her lead in attempting to keep our Town leaders in line with the finaces. Weather you call it passion or being crazy most people should call it what it is honesty and some what brave to be able to stand up to certain people in town politics and voice your true feelings! Keep up the great job Sal! View Comment
