Animal Cruelty Investigation Launched In Northampton County Police are investigating after a dog was found dead in a cage in Forks Township over the weekend. Officers were called to Frutchey Hill Road and Richmond Road Saturday morning, April 20 for an "animal complaint," Township police said in a release.  A small, brown Yorkie with a green colored bandana was found dead in a cage under a white bedsheet, authorities said. The dog "appeared to have been deceased for an extended period of time," they noted.  Anyone with information is being asked to submit a tip through Crimewatch.

5 Pedestrians Hit By Car In Northeast Philly Parking Lot, Police Say One woman is in custody after police say she struck five people with her Nissan Sentra in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, April 22.  The 46-year-old driver hit five pedestrians, three of whom were sent to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police told Daily Voice.  It happened at the parking lot of the 6301 Oxford Avenue ShopRite, authorities said.  Four people suffered bruises and scratches:  A 57-year-old woman A 45-year-old woman A 76-year-old woman A 29-year-old woman A 76-year-old man was also hit but was not injured, according to police.  …

Hit-Run Suspect Wanted By West Reading Police Authorities in West Reading are looking for a driver accused of a hit-and-run.  Police said the pictured car left the scene of a crash near South 3rd Avenue and Franklin Street around 7:30 p.m. on March 29.  The silver SUV fled north on South 3rd Avenue and then east on Penn Avenue, according to investigators.  Anyone with information is asked to call West Reading Borough Police Department at 610-373-0111 or submit an anonymous tip via Crimewatch.

Northeastern PA Woman Missing, Police Say Stroud Area Regional Police are looking for a missing woman.  Lisa Ann DiGiovanni, 49, was last seen in Stroud Township around 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, authorities said.  She is 5 feet and 115 pounds and was last seen wearing a black jacket with white fur trim, blue jeans, and hoop earrings, according to police. She drives a white 2013 Hyundai Elantra sedan with Pennsylvania tag number MGZ-2595.  Anyone with information is being asked to submit a tip online.

Woman Shot In North Philadelphia Home: Police A 49-year-old woman was shot once in the stomach in the living room of a Philadelphia residence Monday night, April 22, according to police.  Investigators said it happened on the 100 block of Linton Street in Olney around 7:40 p.m. The victim was taken to Einstein Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.  One person was detained in connection with the shooting and a weapon was recovered, PPD added.

Troopers Investigate 'Terroristic Threats' Toward Monroe County Wawa State police were called to a Chesnuthill Township Wawa when an anonymous caller made "terroristic threats" last week, authorities said in a release.  The Wawa at 1781 Route 209 got the calls around 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, troopers said.  The store was temporarily closed and employees were evacuated while police "conducted a walk-through and assessed the building," according to the release. Nothing suspicious was found and the store reopened, police said.  The matter remains under investigation by PSP's Fern Ridge station.

Pedestrian Thrown Nine Feet In Philadelphia Hit-Run: Officials A pedestrian suffered "serious head trauma" after being struck while crossing a Philadelphia street early Sunday morning, April 21, police told Daily Voice.  The victim was hit by a dark blue Chevrolet Camaro while crossing the 5100 block of Grays Avenue around 1:20 a.m., authorities said. They were thrown about nine feet and taken to Penn-Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, according to police.  The driver, 34, fled eastbound on Grays Avenue but later surrendered to police, authorities said.  The investigation is ongoing, PPD added.

Coroner IDs Camper Killed By Falling Tree In Bucks County The woman who died when a tree fell on her RV at a Bucks County campsite was 69-year-old Cynthia Cousins, the Coroner's Office says.  Cousins, of Bensalem, was at the Quakerwoods Campground at 2225 Rosedale Road when a tree fell on her camper late on Saturday, April 20, officials said. Her cause of death was blunt head and torso injuries and the manner was accidental, said Coroner Patricia Campi.
