Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

It happened Saturday, Aug. 31 at about 7:45 p.m. in North Bellport. Fatal Crash: 21-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim On I-91 In Windsor A 21-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a crash on a stretch of I-91. It happened around 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Windsor. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling on the southbound Exit 35A off-ramp when it veered into the left shoulder and hit a metal guardrail, according to Connecticut State Police.  Both the operator, a 33-year-old Manchester man, and the passenger, identified as Valerie Ann Eaton of Hartford, were ejected from the motorcycle. Goldman Sachs To Fire Over 1,300 Workers, Report Says New York City-based multinational investment bank and financial services company Goldman Sachs plans to lay off over 1,300 employees, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The move is part of an annual review process that culls low performers, the report said, noting the numbers of those getting fired may wind up being as high as 1,800 out of the company's global workforce of around 45,000. Suspect Nabbed After 30-Year-Old From North Babylon Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight In Brentwood A suspect has been apprehended after a fatal shooting in broad daylight outside a Long Island residence. It happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in Brentwood. Joshua E. Jasmin, age 30, of North Babylon, was transported via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Following an investigation, Romeo Campbell, age 23, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, Aug. 31.
