Darien's 'Person To Person' Charity Receives $20,000 Grant For Scholarships DARIEN, Conn. -- Oracle has awarded a $20,000 grant to Darien's Person-to-Person in support of the P2P Scholarship Program for the upcoming school year. The Scholarship Program helps bridge the gap between what each college student earns and saves and the amount needed to attend college. Pequot Library In Southport Sells Hats For Derby Day Fundraiser FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Pequot Library in Southport is selling hats for its Derby Day Fundraiser.The August Hat Company has donated 10 hats for the fundraiser, while supplies last. Lifeguards Needed At Indian Well State Park In Shelton SHELTON, Conn. -- The state parks are looking to hire lifeguards for this summer with positions available in Fairfield County at Sherwood Island in Westport, Indian Well in Shelton and Squantz Pond in New Fairfield. Connecticut State Parks wants to fill 80 lifeguard positions across the state to ensure the safety of its beachgoers at State Park waterfront beaches.
