New Fairfield Fire Department, Viper Owners Association Host Car Show NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The first annual New Fairfield Fire Department and Viper Owners Association Car Show was held Sunday at the senior center. The show is in memory of Pete Weinberger, a firefighter and Viper owner, who recently lost his battle with cancer.  All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society.  Marc and Renee Perlmen of New Fairfield won the Selectmen's Choice Award for their 1969 Shelby Mustang 500. Caribbean Jerk Fest In Bridgeport Looks For Reggae, R&B Artists BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The West Indian American Association of Greater Bridgeport is holding auditions for local reggae and R&B artists who are interested in performing at this year’s WIAAGB Caribbean Jerk Fest. It is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, from 1 to 9 p.m. on McLevy Green on Bank Street.  The auditions will start at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 20, at Miss Thelma’s Restaurant, 140 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport.
