Danbury Music Centre Heads Outside For 'Jazz Alley' Concert DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Music Centre will present "Jazz Alley," an outdoor live performance, in the brick courtyard next to the Danbury Music Centre. The show will be on Sunday, May 22, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The showing features the band Sub Urban, as well as an open mic for poetry. This performance is held to promote music in downtown Danbury. Valedictorian, Salutatorians Announced For Darien High School DARIEN, Conn. -- Chloe Zhou is valedictorian of Darien High School's Class of 2016 and Christian Ostberg and Katie Tsui are the salutatorians, according to the Darien Times. At 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, graduation will take place on the Darien High School Stadium Field. No tickets are needed if the ceremony is held outdoors, the Darien Times reported. Students From WestConn In Danbury To Address Fellow Graduates At Graduation DANBURY, Conn. -- The Class of 2016 from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury will be addressed by two fellow graduates at this year’s commencement exercises: Nicole Mair will address the undergraduate class while Dr. Monica Sousa will be the keynote speaker for the graduate class. New Fairfield Fire Department, Viper Owners Association Host Car Show NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The first annual New Fairfield Fire Department and Viper Owners Association Car Show was held Sunday at the senior center. The show is in memory of Pete Weinberger, a firefighter and Viper owner, who recently lost his battle with cancer. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society. Marc and Renee Perlmen of New Fairfield won the Selectmen's Choice Award for their 1969 Shelby Mustang 500. The Viper Owners Association is a car club for owners of Dodge/SRT Vipers. Danbury High's Fraticelli Honored As League's Coach Of The Year DANBURY, Conn. -- Nick Fraticelli, coach of the Danbury High School girls indoor track team, was named “Coach of the Year” by the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference.
