Totowa Library Sets Mindfulness Workshops For Students TOTOWA, N.J. -- Break out those mats, a series of yoga-based, mindfulness workshops have been scheduled in Totowa. “Mondays with Mercedes” is open to all college and high school students. The workshops will take place at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library from 7:30-8:15 p.m. on June 27; July 11, 18 and 25; and Aug. 1 and 8. They will be led by Mercedes Murphy, a theater director and dancer who has also worked as a stylist in the music and fashion business. Greenburgh Grads Awarded Community Service Scholarships GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Four local high school graduates have been named as recipients of community leader scholarships, Greenburgh school officials said. The four will each get $1,000 from the William L. Carter Foundation to apply to college costs. The foundation is named for the late Dr. William L. Carter, who had been commissioner of the Theodore Young Community Center. Carter was known for fighting for youth initiatives and educational opportunities for the community’s young people. North Castle officers were called to Byram Lake Road early Friday, June 10, and to Byram Ridge Road later the same day, but the wandering bruins were long gone by the time they got there.
