Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree At Cummings Park In Stamford, Police Say An 80-year-old man was killed after crashing into a tree at a popular park in Fairfield County. The fatal crash took place in Stamford around 1:50 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20 inside Cummings Park on Shippan Avenue. During the crash, a 2019 Subaru, which was being operated by the Stamford resident, was traveling eastbound through the park when he failed to negotiate a curve, then sped up, drove through a small parking lot, then struck a tree, said Sgt. Police ID Boy, Age 16, Shot While Riding His Bike On CT Roadway Police have identified a 16-year-old Connecticut boy who was shot and killed while riding his bike. Joshua Vazquez, of New Haven, was killed around 4:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19 on Valley Street between Mountain Road and Harper Avenue. Responding officers located Vazquez who had been shot. Area Man Charged With Burglarizing Beer World Twice, Police Say An area man was busted following an investigation into allegedly burglarizing Beer World twice last month. Sullivan County resident Justus L. McMoore, age 37, of Monticello, was charged on Friday, Dec. 16, with two counts of grand larceny and petit larceny, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police. McMoore is accused of illegally entering the Beer World store at 77 Pleasant St., in Monticello on Friday, Nov. 4, and stealing $821.45 worth of items, Johnstone said. Man Accused Of Stabbing Grandfather In Region An area man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his grandfather. The incident took place in Sullivan County on Friday, Dec. 16, in South Fallsburg. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a person who had been stabbed and sought treatment at an urgent care facility in Monticello. Once at the clinic, the man, who had been stabbed in the abdomen, was rushed by ambulance to Garnet Hospital in Harris, Chaboty said.
