Police on Long Island seized thousands of stolen catalytic converters and more than $4 million in cash during a raid that followed a months-long investigation.
The raids took place before dawn in Nassau County at the homes and scrapyards of two brothers in Long Beach on Wednesday, Dec. 14, said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder at a news conference.

23-Year-Old Beats Woman, Kicks Cop In Greenwich, Police Say
A Fairfield County man is behind bars after allegedly beating a woman and then fighting with police who attempted to arrest him.
The incident took place in Greenwich on Sunday, Dec. 11 on Ridge Street.
Greenwich police responded to an apartment on the western side of town where a concerned resident had called the police to report a violent attack in an upstairs unit, said Lt. Patrick Smyth, of the Greenwich Police.

CT Man Sentenced To Prison For 2019 Sexual Assault
A Connecticut man was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a 63-year-old woman whose home he was working on.
Carlos Mejia, age 38, of New Haven, was sentenced on Tuesday, Dec. 13, to 15 years in prison followed by 11 years of probation for the July 2019 attack, said John Doyle, Jr., New Haven State’s Attorney.
Mejia was found guilty by a jury in October of sexual assault, the CT Attorney's Office said.
