Man Killed, 5-Year-Old Injured In Hudson Valley Shooting, Police Say A man was killed and a 5-year-old riding his bike was injured during a shooting in the Hudson Valley. The shooting took place in Orange County around 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 in the city of Newburgh. The victims were found when Newburgh police officers on patrol heard gunfire in the area of Washington Street and Clark Street, said City of Newburgh Police Chief Anthony Geraci. Suspect Caught After Beloved EMT Killed In Random Attack In NYC A 34-year-old man has been charged in the brutal stabbing death of a beloved New York City Fire Department EMT from Long Island. Lt. Alison Russo-Elling, age 61, of Huntington Station, was stabbed and killed around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, while working at EMS Station 49 in Queens. ID Released For Stamford Man Killed Crossing Street Police in Fairfield County have released the identity of a man who was killed crossing a city street. Gene Lepre, age 84, was killed around 7:20 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Stamford in the area of Courtland Avenue near the junction with Seaton Road. According to Sgt. Woman Hit By Car In White Plains Critically Injured, Police Say A 60-year-old woman was critically injured after being hit by a car in Westchester. The crash took place in White Plains around 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28 near the intersection of Bloomingdale Road and Maple Avenue. According to White Plains Police Commissioner David Chong, the woman was transported to Westchester Medical Center with severe injuries. Firefighter Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Home In Stamford A firefighter was injured and a family of five displaced during a large house fire in Fairfield County. The blaze broke out in Stamford around 5 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 on Fairfield Avenue on the city's west side. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Rye Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck by a New Haven Line train in Westchester. Aurelia Franchitti, age 21, of Woodside, in Queens, was fatally struck after stepping in front of an eastbound train at Rye Station around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials said. Man Killed, 4 Injured In Three-Vehicle Long Island Crash A 69-year-old Long Island man was killed during a three-vehicle crash. It happened in Holbrook around 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 on Lincoln Avenue. According to Suffolk County Police, Steven Russell, of Brentwood, was driving a 2021 Ford Bronco northbound on Lincoln Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a 2015 Ford F550 that was traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway. Support Pours In For Fiance, Daughter Of 23-Year-Old Killed In Hudson Valley Crash Support is pouring in for the fiance and daughter of a 23-year-old man who died after a two-vehicle crash in the region.
