22-Year-Old Killed In Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash In Trumbull, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was killed during a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to burst into flames.
It took place in Trumbull around 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 in the area of the Monroe Turnpike.
According to Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police Department, the crash occurred when an Infiniti collided with a Subaru Crosstrek on the Monroe Turnpike near the intersection of Monroe Turnpike, or Route 111, and Technology Drive.
Xavier Miller, age 22, of Bridgeport, the driver of the Infiniti, was killed, Weir said.

Man Crossing Roadway Struck, Killed By Car In Shirley
Police on Long Island are investigating a crash that killed a man overnight.
It took place in Shirley around 9:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15.
According to Suffolk County detectives, Frank Brandimarte was crossing William Floyd Park Parkway from west to east when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Honda Civic driven by Aristides Baires,
Brandimarte, age 59, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.
Baires, age 28, of Shirley, was not injured.
The Honda was impounded for a safety check.

Drunk CT Woman Breaks Into Home, Bites Officer, EMT, Police Say
A drunk Connecticut woman was charged with assault after she allegedly broke into a home, drank alcohol from the refrigerator, and then bit an officer and an EMT when they attempted to arrest her, according to police.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Naugatuck.
According to the Naugatuck Police, officers were dispatched to a home on Park Avenue for a possible burglary.

1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized After 4-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash
A 26-year-old man was killed during a multi-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley.
It happened in Orange County around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14 in the town of Wallkill, on Schutt Road.
According to detectives, when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 26-year-old New Windsor resident lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures, including CPR, police said.
The victim was transported to Garnet Health Center in Middletown by EMS where he was pronounced dead, police added.
