Stratford Students Create 'Hero Quilt' To Honor Firefighters STRATFORD, Conn. -- On International Firefighters' Day, which was May 4, students at St. Mark Elementary School in Stratford made a “Hero Quilt" to honor the firefighters of the Fire Department of the City of New York for their contribution to saving lives during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.The students presented the flag at Stratford fire department headquarters.
