Bethel-Newtown Rep. Carter Supports Bill Giving Benefits To Firefighters NEWTOWN, Conn. -- The House of Representatives approved a bill on Wednesday with the support of State Rep. Dan Carter that would expand wage replacement benefits to current and former firefighters suffering from cancer contracted from exposure to harsh job-related conditions. Carter is a Republican who represents the 2nd District of Bethel, Danbury, Newtown and Redding. 'Fiction Addiction' Book Club Kicks Off At Greenwich Library GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Library staffers Joanne Gaither and Robin Terzi are launching a new book group called "Fiction Addiction." Danbury Flyers Run Well At Youth Track Meets DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Flyers recently competed in two track and field meets. On Friday, April 15, the Flyers competed in a middle school meet held in Ridgefield, where the fifth-eighth grade Flyers girls and boys teams competed against the New Fairfield Flash, Scotts Ridge Middle School and East Ridge Middle School. Darien Students From Norwalk Rowing Club Win Medals At Saratoga Contest DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien High School students in the Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk took home several medals at the recent Saratoga Invitational. More than 56 teams and 1,300 entries took part in the race on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Greenfield Hill Church In Fairfield Stages Dogwood Festival, Fundraiser FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The 81st annual Dogwood Festival will take place Friday to Sunday at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield.
