Tarrytown School District Supports Autism Day By Wearing Blue TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Tarrytown observed World Autism Awareness Day on April 1, by wearing blue and showing support for students with autism and other disabilities. Teachers and students wore blue to raise awareness about autism and to set a good example for inclusion of students with this disability and others.  Sleepy Hollow Middle School students wore blue, and even ate foods at lunchtime that included blue bagels and waffles.  At the Winfield L. Tarrytown Trustee Tom Basher Retires After 24 Years Of Service TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Tarrytown trustee Tom Basher is retiring after 24 years of service to the Tarrytown community.Mayor Drew Fixell, at a public hearing, thanked Basher for his years of service.  This was Basher's last meeting as he moves onto retirement. He elected not to run again in March when his term was up.  The footbridge at Patriot's Park will be named in Basher's honor.
