Hikers Enjoy Outing At Monroe's Chalk Hill On National Trails Day MONROE, Conn. -- On National Trail's Day, David Solek, Monroe’s park ranger and tree warden, led a group of hikers on Monroe’s Chalk Hill Nature Trail. The hike featured a stop at Whale Rock. The outing was jointly sponsored by the Monroe Land Trust and Tree Conservatory, Monroe Parks and Recreation Department and Monroe Conservation and Water Resources Commission. The route covers a third of a mile over terrain suitable for all ages. Norwalk Man Busted On Drug Charges On Route 8/25 In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 21-year-old Norwalk man was busted on drug charges at about midnight Tuesday on Route 8/25 in Bridgeport by a Connecticut State Police Trooper, police said. Christian Scott was charged with drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and failure to drive in the proper lane on a multiple lane highway, police said.
