Brookfield Police Train To Recognize Opiate Use, Overdoses BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- All Brookfield Police Department officers are trained in the recognition of opiate use and overdoses. All of them have received mandatory training in the administration of intra-nasal naloxone “narcan” to help reduce the injuries and fatalities of opiate overdoses.  Every Brookfield police officer has been issued an individual opiate overdose response kit. These kits are carried by all on-duty officers.  These kits already have been put to use in the community and have saved lives, officials said.

Boaters Urged To Use Caution In Norwalk Harbor As Divers Work On Bridge NORWALK, Conn. — After a boat went through a clearly marked dive zone Tuesday on the Norwalk River near the Walk Bridge, the Norwalk Department of Police Service Marine Unit issued a boater warning.The divers, who were working on the Walk Bridge Project, were not struck by the boat, according to Norwalk Public Information Officer Lt. Terrence Blake.   The operator of the boat was located and subsequently cited for the violation, police said.  According to the Norwalk Police Department, divers are expected to be working near the Walk Bridge for the next two weeks.
