Bridgeport Can See Severe Thunderstorms, Flash Flooding Later In Weekend FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Fairfield County could see a 60 percent chance of showers Friday afternoon. The high will be around 72 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. On Saturday, there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 84. Norwalk Public School Fifth-Graders Graduate From D.A.R.E. NORWALK, Conn. -- Nearly 1,000 Norwalk Public School fifth grade students graduated Wednesday from the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at Norwalk City Hall. D.A.R.E. essay winner Lindsay Caruso read her essay to the large audience and was presented with a medal and D.A.R.E. Lion. D.A.R.E. is an international substance abuse prevention education program that seeks to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs and violent behavior. Danbury High Senior Awarded $16K Ronald McDonald College Scholarship DANBURY, Conn. -- Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area recently presented Danbury High School senior Alexandra Prendergast, 18, with a $16,000 college scholarship at an awards ceremony at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. Easton Police Chief Pays Visit To Preschooler, Offers Up A Ride EASTON, Conn. -- A winner of the preschool drawing for the "Easton Police Free Ride To School" got a personal visit from Police Chief Tim Shaw at home. Shaw helped the student, as well as another student, put police tape around their garage for fun.
